Romanian Electricity Spot Market: more than one million US dollars – new record for the daily transactions

(Bucharest, February 16, 2006) On February 16 the Day-Ahead (SPOT) Market registers a new record regarding the daily transactions with electricity: 909.309,79 euros

Seven and a half months since the Electricity Spot Market was launched, OPCOM registers the biggest value of DAM transactions, 909.309,79 Euros (1.082.206,73 USD), which corresponds to a volume of 15.456,511 MWh.

This day, the number of active market participants was of 49, very near to the maximum for this period of time, which was of 50 participants.

This new volume comes to reconfirm the regional European power exchange vocation of OPCOM.
