OPCOM support Mondoforum Company in organizing the Electricity Forum “Steps towards the Regional Electricity Market”
( Bucharest, 8 June 2005 ) In the framework of its consistent policy to promote the electricity market liberalization and to enhance the competition in this market, OPCOM supports Mondoforum Company in organizing the Electricity Forum “Steps towards the Regional Electricity Market”
During the second week of June, Mondoforum Company organized the Electricity Forum “Steps towards the Regional Electricity Market” with the support of the co-organizers: Transelectrica and OPCOM and having as sponsors: Romanian Commodity Exchange (platinum), ENEL(gold), Energy Holding, ABB Romania (silver). The conference’s works were hosted by JW Marriott Hotel, Bucharest. Following the European Fora model, in 6th of June, the following speakers participated: Stakeholders - Gheorghe Indre, General Director for Energy Policies, The Ministry for Economy and Commerce; - Ion Merfu, CEO Transelectrica; - Victor Ionescu, CEO OPCOM. Authorities and Associations - Alexandru Sandulescu, General Director ANRE; - Paul Gabriel Miclaus, Commissar CNVM, - Radu Negrea, General Secretary ARB - Jean Constantinescu, President IRE Athene’s process donors - Virgil Musatescu, Senior Energy Advisor Private Sector, USAID - Marco Kekman, EBRD The conference’s works enjoyed the very special participation of foreign and Romanian specialists as: - Knut Fossdal, Vice President Nord Pool Consulting; - Christian Hewicker, Principal Consultant Kema Consulting; - Enrique Conejero Cobo, Executive Consultant Atos Origin; - Juan Muguiro Loring, Executive Consultant Atos Origin; - Liliana Paraipan, Marketing Director Romanian Commodity Exchange. Other presentations came from co-organizers as Dana Petrescu (Transelectrica) and Lucian Palade (OPCOM). Appreciated interventions had the Electrica representative Ion Lungu, director. During the second day of the conference, a round table completed the success of the conference, having as facilitators the special guests of the organizers: Knut Fossdal, Christian Hewicker and Enrique Conejero Cobo.
