2010 begins with absolute records of trading in Day Ahead Market

(Bucharest, January, 5^th 2010)

A background of intense participation of companies registered in spot market, 61 participants expressing the intention of trading the electricity for January 6^th 2010, were registered record values, reconfirming that the interest for transactions involving short-term deliveries is maintained at high rates:

- an hourly average of 1,169.328 MWh/h, respectively a daily volume of 28,064 MWh, absolute record since launching the new trading mechanisms in 2005, value that corresponds to the market share of 17.95% of the consumption forecasted for that day;

- an hourly value of 1,308 MWh/h, ranked between the highest values recorded since launch, the absolute record being registered two days ago, in the 12^th interval of January 4 2010, 1,435 MWh/h.

Beginning with the first delivery day of this year, in 60% of the hourly intervals traded to date, the traded volumes were greater than 1,000 MWh/h; for January 6^th 2010 as delivery day, the volumes that exceeded this value were recorded for every hour.
