    2012-07-04
The tender for the construction of a seventh 1GW nuclear electricity reactor at Bulgaria`s 2GW Kozloduy nuclear power plant (NPP) site was launched on Tuesday (3rd July). Kozloduy NPP - New Capacities, the subsidiary of Kozloduy NPP that is managing the project, has asked interested parties to submit technical assessments, price offers and details of the site they propose using. Bidders have until 16 July to submit their offers. In April the Bulgarian government approved the construction of a seventh reactor at the country`s 2GW Kozloduy NPP, after scrapping plans to build the 2GW Belene nuclear project (see EDEM 11 April 2012). In May Bulgaria`s energy minister, Delian Dobrev, estimated that the new unit should come on line in 2022-2023. (THE ICIS HEREN REPORTS - EDEM 16126 / 03 July 2012)
