© ICIS HEREN - On the agenda: Bulgarian exchange starts on 19 January
On Tuesday (19th January) the Bulgarian electricity day-ahead exchange IBEX will hold its first live trading session for delivery on Wednesday (20th January).
IBEX is partnering with Nordic exchange Nord Pool Spot, which will deliver the trading system and operate the day-ahead market as a service provider.
IBEX started testing on 11 December. There are already 18 companies, both local and foreign, registered as exchange members.
The state-owned producers Kozloduy nuclear plant, Maritsa East 2 coal-fired plant and utility NEK will be obliged to sell a certain amount of volume each day in order to provide liquidity.
Each trading session will close at 12:00 CET while results will be published by 12:55, according to IBEX trading rules.
