| Romanian Day-ahead exchange Opcom has increased its traded volume by 16% year-on-year, to 2.25 TWh for the first six month of 2007 compared with the same period in 2006. This is equivalent to 8.55% of consumption, almost 1.3 percentage points above the figure a year ago. Opcom said a number of records on the exchange were broken during June: a record daily volume of 17,982 MWh was recorded on 23rd June; on 24th June market share reached 13,16%; and on 25th June the value of total transactions reached EUR 1,01 million. The volumes and market share for Opcom’s centralised market for bilateral contracts has also increased, with a market share of 11.01% of forecast consumption for the first half of 2007 (4.1 TWh traded, around five times the H1 2006 figures).
