Romanian oil and gas incumbent Petrom plans to commission its first gas-fired, 860 MW power plant in 2011, company CEO Mariana Gheorghe told ICIS Heren on Monday (30th March) on the sidelines of Energy in Central and Eastern Europe conference in Prague. The plant will be located in Brazi, outside the capital Bucharest. The plant is being built on the site of the Petrobrazi refinery and around of 20% of its capacity will be used to supply this site, while the rest will feed into the grid, Gheorghe said. Petrom first took the decision to build this power plant in the summer of 2006. Austria’s OMV controls 51% of Petrom. (THE ICIS HEREN REPORTS - EDEM 13 062 / 30 March 2009) |
