Romanian gas incumbent Romgaz is to build a 600MW thermal energy plant in central Transilvania, requiring a projected investment of �720m, the company’s general manager told the regional Newsin agency on Friday (24th April). “We are engaged in negotiations to take over the Iernut plant, in exchanges of Termoelectrica’s debts, worth Romanian New lei 160m [�38m], and to build a 600MW gas-fuelled plant”, Marcel Piteiu was quoted as saying.
