  • ©ICIS HEREN - Romanian TSO aims at installations revamp
    2010-04-06
Romanian grid operator Transelectrica is seeking a credit line of 65m to help with the upgrade of its power station installations. The loan will supplement additional financing sources. Last December Transelectrica said it would seek to invest 100m in 2010, more than last year`s Romania New Lei 400m (97m), according to local reports (see EDEM 10 December 2009). The cash will help with the revamp of power stations installations at Brazi Vest, Bucuresti Sud, Brasov, Gura Ialomitei, Gadalin, according to a statement by Transelectrica. Investments are also expected to include extending interconnection capacity with Serbia on the Resita-Pancevo transmission line, the rehabilitation of transformer stations, and the development of a subsea cable between Romania and Turkey (see EDEM 10 December 2009). The state-owned company manages and operates 78 transformers, with a total capacity of 35GW and 8,900km of cables. (THE ICIS HEREN REPORTS - EDEM 14034 / 18 February 2010)
