©ICIS HEREN - Romanian Tariffs stable Romanian energy regulator ANRE is not expecting gas and power prices to rise this year, according to ANRE president Petru Lificiu. Regional newswires reported on Tuesday (23rd March) that he stated that power prices would maintained until 1 January 2011. Gas prices would almost certainly be maintained from 1 April this year, but the regulator is considering indexing tariffs to the 2009 rate of inflation. A report from the National Bank of Romania showed that consumer price inflation grew to 4.74% for 2009, outside the bank’s stated aim of 2.5% to 4.5%. The growth was partly from higher fuel prices, as the oil price recovered. ANRE is due to discuss energy prices in April. (THE ICIS HEREN REPORTS - EDEM 14.058 / 24 March 2010) |
