    2010-09-06
Romania and Bulgaria have been discussing common energy projects, which could involve the coupling of their energy markets, as well as the connection of their gas and power grids, according to a Romanian Ministry of Energy statement on Monday (6th September). Bucharest and Sofia are equally researching the possibility of building joint hydro power plants on the Danube, the Ministry said. On a separate issue, the two countries said they were looking to adopt a common position on the Nabucco gas pipeline project. Bulgaria is already mulling the possibility of setting up its own Day-ahead power exchange or link up with Romania`s Opcom bourse. (THE ICIS HEREN REPORTS - EDEM 14.171 / 6 September 2010)
