The day-ahead volumes traded on Romanian power exchange OPCOM rose by 43% year on year in February, taking the total spot volume to 778GWh, it was announced last week. This accounted for 16.4% of Romania`s power demand, up from a 12.3% exchange-traded share in February 2010.
The average price of the Day-ahead trades from February 2011 was 194.09 New Lei/MWh (€45.67/MWh). This compares with an average closing price over February of €53.98 in the over-the-counter market, according to ICIS Heren data.
