A record market share in the spot market administered by OPCOM: 23.18% for delivery on 14th of July 2010

Day Ahead Market from Romania continues to record new market share records. Two recent values announced in the last days today’s record: 22% for delivery on 6th of July 2010 and 21.60% for delivery on 12th of July 2010.
The market share reached today the highest value since the beginning of trading under the new mechanisms (June 30, 2005): 23.18%. This amount exceeds substantially the records of the past years: 13.33% in 2008 and 21.69% in 2009.
Participants` interest for short-term trading and confidence in the benefits offered by OPCOM, including the role of counterparty brought the spot market share to values comparable to mature markets of Western Europe.
