  • Power Exchange – new trading records

    (Bucharest, October 3rd 2006) The electricity spot market continues its dynamic trend, registering in the last week of September trading values which go over 1,200,000 USD in one single day.


    After 15 trading months, the Day Ahead Market registered a total trading volume of 4,538,215 MWh, the value of these tradings being of 644,323,355 lei (181,183,445 euro). This volume represents a share of 7.03% of national net forecasted consumption. In this period there were daily participated 40 trading participants (an average figure), the maximum value being 52. The average price for one traded megawatt was 135.67 lei (38.11 euro).

    In September it was reached the maximum daily traded volume value, on September 9th , this year and a total trading value of 3,347,393 lei (945,378 euro).

    The average traded volume in September (433.3 MWh/h) leads to a market share of 7.63%, which puts OPCOM S.A. – based the mentioned criteria – on the 5th , respective 4th place among European power exchanges that apply the same voluntary spot market mechanisms, after Nord Pool-Oslo, EEX-Leipzig, Powernext-Paris, APX-Amsterdam.
