A 100MW wind farm has been connected to the Romanian electricity transmission system, plant owner Austrian electricity company Verbund announced in a statement on Monday (10th September).
The Casimcea wind power plant is based on the Black Sea coast, 250km east of Bucharest. The facility is expected to produce 240GWh annually, which should be enough to supply around 155,000 households.
The facility will be expanded by another 100MW, which is currently under construction and set to come on line next year.
The investment cost of the whole 200MW wind project will amount to around €340m.
