Romania`s electricity generation and imports during the first 11 months of 2012 declined 2.9% year on year to 54.9TWh. The country`s thermoelectric production totalled just over 30TWh, 0.8% up compared with the same period in 2011. Hydroelectric generation was down 21%, at 11.4TWh, while production of nuclear energy was 10.5TWh, or 2.4% lower year on year. During the same period, 2.2TWh of wind power was produced in 2012, 1.2TWh higher year on year. Consumption in the first 11 months of last year totalled 48.36TWh, a rise of 0.4% year on year. In total, 651GWh of electricity was exported during this period, 73% less than in the first 11 months of 2011. (THE ICIS HEREN REPORTS - EDEM 17005 / 8 January 2013) |
