    Romania Q1 power consumption drops 4.5%
    Romanian electricity consumption in the first quarter of 2013 was 4.5% lower year on year at just over 13TWh, according to data published by the country`s national institute of statistics on Friday (10th May).
    Thermal power production was 18.4% lower year on year at just over 7.8TWh.
    Hydropower generation was 28% higher compared to the same period in 2012 at just under 3.4TWh, while nuclear generation was 2.4% lower at 3TWh.
    Wind power generation in the quarter was over 50% higher year on year at 1.3TWh.
    Electricity exports in the quarter were 4.8% lower year on year at just under 336GWh, the group said.
