Iberdrola Renovables plans to acquire 1,600 MW of wind capacity in Romania, according to a statement this week. The renewable arm of Iberdrola has struck a EUR 200-300 million deal with Swiss engineering group Dobrogea and Romania Rokura for ownership of fifty projects in east Romania. The wind farms are all in different stages of development, with the most advanced ones expected online in 2009.
