  • ©ICIS HEREN - CEZ seeks control of Romanian distributor
    2010-04-06
Czech power utility CEZ has started talks with minority shareholders at its Romanian distribution company Electrica Oltenia, a spokeswoman confirmed to ICIS Heren on Wednesday (8th July). But the company refused to provide any details on discussion. CEZ acquired a 51 percent stake in Electrica Oltenia in 2005. It has the right to buy out the minority stakes, as part of the privatisation deal. A 30% stake in Oltenia belongs to Romanian state-run investment fund Fondul Proprietatea, which also holds a stake in spun-off sales company CEZ Vanzare and a service unit CEZ Servicii.
