  • © ICIS HEREN - Hungary and Serbia discuss cross-border auctions
    2010-11-10
Mávir, the Hungarian grid operator, is discussing with Serbian partners the possibility of setting up daily and monthly cross-border auctions from January, a spokeswoman said on Tuesday (9th November). She refused to confirm speculation that around 700MW of capacity would be made available from next year. She did say the two countries are discussing a common functioning model, which will be made public as soon as it is approved by the regulator. The auctions would be carried out in line with the European Union push for market integration. Serbian sources speculated earlier this week that the country would also look to start joint auctions with Romania and Croatia. (THE ICIS HEREN REPORTS - EDEM 14.217 / 09 November 2010)
