  • © ICIS HEREN - Liechtenstein to return stolen EUAs to Austria
    2011-02-03
Liechtenstein`s carbon registry will give back stolen EU allowances (EUAs) to the Austrian government as soon as the two registries have reopened after the current suspension, an official from the registry confirmed on Thursday (3rd February). The EUAs, stolen from a government account in the Austrian carbon registry, were transferred through a number of other countries before being frozen in Liechtenstein. The registry official declined to say whether the buyer of the stolen EUAs had acted in good faith or would be compensated for the return of the EUAs.
