| Czech power incumbent CEZ has agreed to buy out Romanian Electrica’s 19% stake in Romanian power distributors CEZ Distributie and CEZ Vanzare for �145.36m, according to a statement released on Friday (9th October). CEZ has now assumed full control of the companies after exercising an option enshrined in the privatization agreement when it bought a 51% stake in Romanian power supplier Electrica Oltenia in 2005. CEZ had purchased 30% stakes in both companies from the Romanian government-owned Fondul Proprietatea last week. (THE ICIS HEREN REPORTS - EDEM 13 196 / 9 October 2009) |
