During October 29th and 1st of November 2006 took place in Seoul, the APEx 2006 Annual Reunion, organized by the Association of Power Exchanges and the Korea Power Exchange. The APEx got together the representatives of the power exchanges and of the power market operators from all over the world; during the program were presented the last year evolutions of the administered markets. On November 2nd 2006, OPCOM delegation visited the Korean Power Exchange - KPX.

OPCOM's delegation, invited by EURELECTRIC, participates to the common meeting works NACMPF SG of SETSO TF – EFET TF SEE, dedicated to organizing a South-Eastern regional Market issues.
Participating to the common meeting contributed to a better understanding of intensions of potential competitors and co-workers, of development stage and of implementation of new projects related to Regional Power Market. OPCOM also reaffirmed its potential to become a regional power exchange.

©THE HEREN REPORTS: Romania’s spot market reaches 7% of power consumption Romania’s Day-ahead market (DAM) volumes have grown to reach 7% of the forecast net consumption during the first year of trading under its revised trading arrangements. Volumes reached 3,642.8 GWh during the first year, with 76 members, 49 of which are active on a daily basis. According to a statement from DAM operator OPCOM, Romania is the only owner of a spot market and a functioning balancing market in the south-east Europe region. Romania is one of the most advanced power markets in the region, with 83.5% of the market open by July 2005, and 100% of the market by the end of 2007. The transmission system operator is already unbundled. OPCOM team participates to the works of FOREN2006 - Regional Energy Forum, organized by the World Energy Council, the Romanian National Committee. On Monday, 12 of June, at the International Conference Center, OPCOM was the co-organizer of the Key Address 1 – „The Regional Energy Market and the Single European Market". More then 200 participants, experts and press, have reached to this important event. The president of the panel was Mr. Pierre Gadonneix - ViceChairman for Europe of the World Energy Council and Chairman&CEO of Electricité de France, assisted by Mr. Victor Ionescu - CEO of OPCOM SA. The 6th Balkan Power Conference, took place this year in Ohrid, Republic of Macedonia, and represented an oportunity for many experts to meet together and discuss, share impressions and experience, related to regional topics like technical, economy and legislation for liberalization of power sector. OPCOM's delegation presented a lot of various papers and discussed actively with the participants to the Conference.
